Getting an internship is just the first step. To get the most out of it, you have to do more than just show up and follow directions. • Define the internship.
  Create a detailed understanding of your duties and performance expectations. Get clarification if you don’t understand something. 
• Be professional.
  Be respectful and dress in professional attire. Arrive on time and resist the temptation to leave early. Be mindful of your place as an intern.
• Ask questions.
  Don’t assume anything. Seek advice and raise questions. Be open-minded about new ideas and procedures. 
• Always do your best.
  Hard workers get noticed. Don’t complain about repetitive tasks – good performance on menial tasks can lead to more responsibility down the road. Stay positive.
