Follow Up
What to do after the job fair
  • Follow-up, enthusiasm & attitude are the key differentiators.
  • Sort through notes, brochures & business cards to plan your strategy.
  • Call the recruiter the evening of the job fair and leave a “thank you” voice mail.
  • Send out thank you notes or e-mails.
  • Reconfirm your interest & remind the recruiter how you met.
  • Reiterate how you are uniquely qualified.
  • Include your resume with the thank you.
  • If e-mailing, write: “Follow-up from [Name of] Career Fair” in subject line.
  • Network to find additional contacts within the company.
  • Continue to make follow-up phone calls but don’t risk becoming an annoyance. Call immediately following the fair and then two to three weeks later.
