Job Description

Job is located in Owatonna, MN.

Supports the Engineering Management Staff in carrying out the responsibilities of the Engineering Department and is the Companys main knowledge resource for electrical engineering, system design, specifications and procedures for new and rebuild project construction needs.  Under general supervision performs a variety of engineering functions in accordance with standard procedures and works closely with other departments in the exchange of information needed for a variety of projects.  

 Primary company resource for electrical power engineering needs, provide technical advice and assistance to operating sections, customers, consultants, and contractors.
 Promote positive image of the utilities to customers and investigate various concerns regarding electric, water, and gas utility procedures and requirements.
 Performs operational analysis of the electrical system.  Conduct fault, sectionalizing, load flows, reliability, contingency, and voltage drop studies.
 Designs, draws, and performs field inspections of electrical construction projects as needed.
 Completes plan review of private new construction projects, directs the placement of utilities, establishes and enters fees for requested utilities, and coordinates with the City, contractors, and departments.
 Maintains and files records relating to: SPCC, construction, maintenance, transformers, outages, PCB, State and Federal required forms, and other Utilities records as needed.
 Generates reports relating to:  transformer loading, loss calculation, fault analysis, switching studies, and the electric system operation needs.
 Collaborates with other departments in coordinating and scheduling Engineering and construction projects.  Generates reports, drawings, and maps as needed for crews/departments for project completion.
 Acts as a backup to other inter-department employees in the event of a temporary absence.
 Review and issue specifications for material needs and procurement.

Education: BS Degree in Electric Power Engineering is required.
