Job Description

This position is responsible for leading the execution of new product implementation at the manufacturing level; injection mold processing improvements, and alternative injection mold resin-materials development.  Previous experience in the Plastic Injection Molding and/or Assembly industry is essential.

 Regular attendance is required to maintain the functions of the job
 Responsible for collaboration with the new product development team to execute project launches on time and to the desired project cost and quality results.
 Responsible for collaborating with the productivity initiative team to execute project launches on time and to the desired project cost and quality results (primary onshoring initiatives)
 Responsible for designing, analyzing, specifying, and recommending tooling and equipment required to manufacture new and existing  product as required
 Responsible for researching and recommending predictable, reliable, cost-effective manufacturing systems that operate in accordance with expected capability.  Support of Lean Manufacturing and other inventory control systems to increase raw and finished goods inventory turns
 Responsible for integrating new products and processes into manufacturing operations
 Recommends capital expenditure requests (BKs), procures tooling and equipment, controls capital expenditures within the approved budget, and secures then reconciles payback based on approved investment expectations
 Responsible for participating in the preparation of standards/budgets in assigned areas of responsibility in accordance with the annual profit plan timetables and guidelines
 Responsible for controlling spending in accordance with approved budgets
 Ensures conformance to quality requirements via proper manufacturing process design and execution.  Takes a lead role in daily random product quality checks and drives corrective actions as necessary
 Proficient at the MOST work measurement systems methodologies and utilizes the system to set product manufacturing work standards that are consistent, reliable, and accurate in establishing cost baselines

 

 

 

Qualification

BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with 10+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in a high volume, cost
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with 10+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in a high volume/cost sensitive manufacturing environment required.
Must have a thorough understanding of decouple molding techniques.
Must have working knowledge of injection molding tooling to be able to effectively communicate necessary modifications to improve quality and reduce cycle times.
Working knowledge of plastics extrusion process is preferable; but not essential.
Excellent problem solving skills, ability to arrive at synergistic action plans, a goal oriented approach and an unyielding desire to reduce product costs through innovation.

Must be proficient in PC-based application programs including e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, and desktop publishing (MS Office), Project management (MS Project), and CAD (Auto CAD and SolidWorks).
Must be a hands-on, independent self-starter with a strong results-oriented outlook.
Good communication skills, oral and written, are essential for success.
