Fast Facts: Evolution of Workforce Priorities

  • 86% of workers cite work fulfillment and work/life balance as top career priorities
  • 73% strongly agree/agree with the statement: “I am willing to take a back seat in my career in order to make time for family"
  • In contrast, only 35% of workers cite being successful at work and moving up the ladder as their top priorities
  • 96% of workers agree that an employer is more attractive when it helps them meet family obligations through the use of options such as flex-time, job sharing and telecommuting
  • Those who have telecommuted, job shared or used on-site day care rate themselves as more satisfied and twice as loyal
  • 66% of employees work for companies that don’t offer work/life balance options
