Job Description

Our client, a manufacturing company, has an opening for a 2nd shift Production Supervisor. This position is responsible to lead and direct production lines and meet and exceed company goals. The key responsibility of this position is to advocate continuous improvement by ensuring quality assurance and productivity.

This individual is responsible for the production, operations, reports and discipline during working shift. This position will monitor the workflow of the production area, assist Plant Manager in production planning of people and equipment necessary to meet requirements.


- Hourly review of display boards and/or scoreboards to ensure plan numbers are being attained and to dig into reasons for misses of the plan and determine solutions for a permanent fix.
- Multiple shift coordination of lean improvement and make any necessary next day improvement plans.
- Continually work to eliminate the "lean program" feel and create a climate that grows a lean culture.
- Utilizing the Kanban Report, schedules daily production, inspects all inter-company transfers (ITF), dispatch lists, checks with shipping to insure production coincides with the needs of shipping.
- Quality is paramount - communicate quality standards required for each product and have recent and most current samples of expected quality levels of parts in each work center and encourage associates to monitor quality and bring issues with part quality to Team Leader or supervisor.
- Address all customer complaints affecting their work centers of responsibility and correct any problems.
- Know the provisions of the Union Contract and Plant Rules and Regulations to allow appropriate discipline of employees as needed.

Working hours: Monday - Thursday 3:30 pm to 2 am

--3-5 years working in a manufacturing environment preferred
--3-5 years of supervisory experience required
--Ability to manage and motivate employees
--Ongoing training in supervisory area and in dealing with people
--Good mechanical skills
--Positive attitude
--Outside-the-box thinking
--Kanban experience preferred
