Job Description

Description: This management position is responsible for the financial management system of this non-profit organization. This position provides accountability of funds and expenditures, while reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, state and federal funding sources, as well as private grantors. The Accountant & Payment Manager supervises finance staff and oversees childcare provider payments.

Responsibilities:
Specific job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

??? The Accountant & Payment Manager is Responsible for all financial tracking and reporting including, but not limited to:
o Monthly fiscal reports, as required
o Financial reporting, as required by various fund sources
o Cost Allocation
o Invoicing
??? Responsible for all general accounting processes including, but not limited to:
o Issuing Checks and Payment Vouchers
o Contracts payable
o Accounts payable
o Accounts receivable
o Grants receivable
o Bank account reconciliation
o Cost allocation
o Payroll and fringe benefits
o Issuing W-2s and 1099s
o Recording subcontract expenditures
??? Responsible for other administrative processes, as appropriate including the implementation and revisions of fiscal policies and procedures.
??? Follow financial protocols addressing accountability for assignment of funds to billing groups.
??? Duties required as a Petty Cash Custodian and following the Petty Cash Protocol.
??? Requires excellent interpersonal skills as well as the ability to interact with all levels of management.
??? Requires proficiency in accounting software used by the Coalition.
??? Be able to speak publicly to groups.
??? Should be creative, energetic, a self-starter, and able to prioritize.
??? Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
??? Should be organized and have the ability to multi-task.
??? Functions as an effective member of the Coalition.
??? Must be able to effectively lead and supervise finance staff.
??? Performs other job related functions and special projects as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
Education: BA/BS degree in accounting related field or equivalent required. Degree in Accounting preferred. Direct experience with payables, invoicing, and procurement is required. An administration background or experience in supervision and bookkeeping is a plus. Experience with fund accounting and related governmental or non-profit accounting is a plus.
