Job Description

Under the direction of the CFO, the ACCOUNTING MANAGER is responsible for all financial transactions of this health care organization's enterprise and reporting in accordance with GAAP, supervision of staff accountant and senior accountant and other accounting/finance duties as assigned.

**Note: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in accounting from a four-year college or university and 7+ years of related experience is required. CPA preferred with private and public experience. This role will eventually grow into a CFO position for the right candidate.**

? Instruct staff on their responsibility in following the Compliance and Ethics program. Detect noncompliance and follow up as appropriate.
? Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
? Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
? Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
? Ensure proper and timely preparation of Cost Report and 990 tax schedules.
? Supervise and manage all vendor maintenance.
? Supervise and manage all accounts payable functions including proper approval, coding and deta entry into the financial systems.
? Assist in the daily banking and bank balance monitoring.
? Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions.
? Support budget and forecasting activities.
? Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
? Ensure a clean and timely year end audit including audit schedules.
? Supervise and prepare statistical reports and financial data as assigned.
? Supervise and manage all accounting functions.
? Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
? Reviews and implements necessary internal accounting controls.
? Collaborate with other managers to support the overall organization goals and objectives.
? Respond to inquiries from organization management regarding financial results, special reporting requests etc.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises the Senior Accountant and Staff Accountant. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

- Proficient at basic typing skills and data entry.
- Proficient at Excel, and general knowledge of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Budget, database software, word processing software and e-mail is required.
