Job Description

This position is responsible for all of the accounting functions at the property. Responsibilities include ensuring accuracy and integrity of the daily revenue report through financial statement preparation, with support from the corporate accounting team. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

Responsible for ensuring accuracy of balanced Daily Revenue Report
Responsible for the cash handling of all monies received (cash, check, credit card) by the hotel, including verification that all monies deposited match with the daily receipts
Oversees the cash handling procedures of all banks supplied to staff, including verifying the balance of all house banks and verifying that all petty cash disbursements out of such banks are valid
Responsible for researching and responding to all credit card disputes in a timely manner
Collection, verification of validity and processing of all accounts payable invoices in the month they are incurred
Responsible for implementing and/or monitoring all direct bill procedures, including DB authorization, daily billing and maintaining proper documentation of all collection efforts
Responsible for assisting the F&B manager with monthly inventory counts, and fully responsible for verifying that extended inventory amounts are all correct. In addition to taking initiative regarding getting control related problems resolved.
Responsible to perform special financial analysis as needed and/or requested by General Manger and Corporate Office.
Responsible to present practical solutions from a cost vs. benefit analysis
Responsible for assisting other managers in analyzing statements, distributions, and other financial data.
Responsible for correcting deficiencies identified on Internal Audit reports
Responsible to maintain effective cash control system with audits and reports for each period.
Responsibility may include processing of payroll for the properties employees. You must verify that all hours worked are valid, reconcile all tips and gratuities to employees by guests, restaurant guests and banquet functions, and forward the numbers to the corporate office
Responsible for understanding and have knowledge of all pertinent leases, contracts, agreements, covenants, and restrictions
Responsible for knowledge of City, County, State sales tax laws dealing with innkeepers and liquor. Complete and file monthly tax distributions on a timely basis.
Responsible to assist managements with schedule and coordinate the preparation of the annual operating budget.
Responsible for completing entries required for preparation of the financial statements; review statements for inaccurate data and make corrections; and investigate and critique with appropriate managers significant variances from budget.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Previous hotel accounting experience required. Outstanding written and oral communication skills to develop effective relationships with guest and coworkers. An understanding of standard concepts, practices, and procedures in GAAP accounting.


1-4 years

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field plus 3-4 years of experience in accounting in a supervisory role.
