Job Description

The Area Manager has operational and financial responsibility for the Spherion's Middle and West Georgia territory. They are accountable for developing a successful marketing strategy for established branch offices in the assigned area that will meet/exceed sales and profit targets and for developing effective staff members to assist in achieving the area's financial/operational goals


oWork with senior leadership to define sales targets and set financial goals.
oDevelop and implement an effective marketing strategy.
oProvide marketing/sales direction to branch managers through target marketing and sales leadership.
oAnalyze area financial reports.
oAnalyze the potential for growth in assigned area; identify locations for establishing new branches and on-premises that will help further the financial goals of the area.
oMonitor activities to ensure branch staff is following through on opportunities to increase their client base and/or increase revenue from existing accounts.
oMonitor the sales efforts throughout the area; periodically review sales goals and results with branch manager and sales staff; monitor results of steps taken to correct deficiencies.
oAssist branch managers with promoting client/employee retention.
oAssist branch managers in developing and implementing effective recruiting strategies to ensure the availability of qualified flexible/full-time employees in order to meet current and anticipated needs.
oWork with corporate teams to develop cross-business opportunities.

oCommunicate and coordinate the various aspects of branch operations required to ensure compliance (Worker???s Compensation, Unemployment, Human Resources, Legal, etc.).
oEnsure branch managers are complying with company programs/ initiatives.
oMonitor branches to ensure administrative and compliance tasks are completed accurately and on time.

oDevelop effective recruiting strategies to identify qualified candidates for internal staff positions.
oHire and train branch managers as needed; promote from within or make external hires using appropriate hiring guidelines.
oEnsure all branch managers develop a fully operational and qualified staff by hiring and training employees according to established company guidelines.
oIdentify developmental/career opportunities to ensure staff retention.
oCoach and counsel managers on behavioral and performance issues, document and take corrective action as necessary.
oCollaborate with branch managers to develop positive working environments for internal staff that encourage longevity and optimum productivity.
oEvaluate the overall effectiveness of area personnel; take appropriate action to reorganize workforce so as to improve branch and area performance.
oConduct regular staff meetings.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

--Four-year college degree or 5 years of equivalent sales and/or management experience

--Minimum of four years related business experience with a strong emphasis on sales and supervision
--Proven track record of success in meeting sales and revenue targets
--Previous Staffing, Retail or Hospitality experience is a plus.
