Job Description

Provides art therapy directly to patients in coordination with the Plan of Care established by the interdisciplinary team. May provide art therapy to community organizations as a contract service.

Responsibilities:
? Assesses patients for their response to art therapy interventions and creates goals/objectives within the
plan of care established in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team;
? Provides regular art therapy visits to patients in caseload, creating and implementing appropriate art
interventions for these visits;
? Maintains productivity standards established by Manager of Supportive Care;
? By applying the techniques of art therapy, assists patients and families in coping with their illness,
alleviating signs and symptoms of the disease, and encourages expression of end of life issues through
this modality.
? Participates regularly in Complementary Therapies Department meetings and Avow staff meetings, as
well as those designated by a contracting organization.
? Functions as member of the Complementary Therapies Department team, engaging in new program
development and implementation as needed.
? Collaborates with Complementary Therapies Department staff as well as other Avow departments on
special projects and events.
? Educates the staff and community to the benefits of art therapy.
? Documents art therapy sessions electronically utilizing handheld device provided.
? Other duties as assigned.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and
decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret tables and bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to identify
problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) on hire or within 90 days.

Education:
Bachelors

Experience:
1-4 years

Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
Master?s Degree or higher from a college/university program; ATR or ATR-BC credential. Minimum of 1-year professional art therapy experience in a health related and/or hospice setting preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
ATR credential or ATR-BC credential provided by the Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB),

Current Florida Drivers License
