Job Description

Spherion is seeking an Assembler for our client in Cameron, TX. Our client is a furniture manufacturing company with a long history in Milam County. The ideal candidate will assemble product with the use of a drill, and forward their work to the next area of production. The candidate will be expected to position parts and subassemblies using templates, fastening parts and subassemblies, and contributing to the team effort by meeting or exceeding daily production goals. The successful candidate will be flexible, team-oriented, and will be able to perform various tasks in support of manufacturing operations. We're looking for a highly organized, methodical professional with the experience necessary to take our products to the next level in terms of safety, security and accuracy. This opportunity is a temp to hire position that has a beginning pay rate of $9/hour, and is an excellent opportunity for the right professional.

Responsibilities:
You will work in a manufacturing environment and contribute to organizational success by accomplishing daily production goals.
You will accomplish your tasks by:
- Following written and verbal instructions.
- Maintaining concentration over a long period of time (8-10 hours).
- Repetitive lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Carrying and moving various-sized items.
- Utilizing attention to safety precautions and practicing common sense.
- Using dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Standing for long periods of time (8-10 hours) in a non-climate controlled environment.
- Using hand-held tools such as drills.

Working hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Skills:
- Coordination: Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.
- Speaking: Talking to others to convey information effectively.
- Manual Dexterity: The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
- Finger Dexterity: The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
- Arm-Hand Steadiness: The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
- Time Management: Managing one's own time and the time of others.
- Equipment Selection: Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.

Education:
High School

Experience:
1-4 years

Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be willing to consent to background screen if necessary.
- Willing to submit to pre-employment drug testing.
- 1-4 years of manufacturing, production, or assembly operations.
- Ability to work for long periods of time (8-10 hours) in a non-climate controlled environment.
