Job Description

Spherion is seeking an experienced assembler to join the staff of a local manufacturing facility. As an assembler, you will be responsible for the inspection, assembly, and packaging of quality fabricated parts and hardware in an efficient manner, according to assembly and packaging instructions and quality control procedures.

Position is full time, receiving 40 hours weekly. Working hours of position are from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM, Monday thru Friday. Position is prone to seasonal overtime, including an occasional Saturday. Interested applicants must be available for this.

Responsibilities:
Below are the primary job duties and responsiblities. However other duties may apply:
- Maintain a good attendance and punctuality record
- Stay focused and on task
- Assembly constitutes bagging small aluminum parts into different colored bags, sealing and labeling them
- Assembly also constitutes inserting rubber blades into fabricated aluminum parts and/or attaching butyl tape to the underside of the part
- Count, weigh, and bag stainless steel hardware. Make sure that packed hardware bags are labeled correctly and contain the specific hardware and count
- Learn and crosstrain in other operations within the department
- Show initiative and willingness to learn
- Work well with others in a team environment
- Work efficiently and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Exhibit good eye-hand coordination
- Listen and follow instructions and have the willingness to accept constructive criticism
- Consistently follow company's safety and conduct policies
- Display exceptional housekeeping. Consistently keep work area clean and well-organized
- Report any defects or damages to parts to the lead person and/or supervisor
- Ensure parts are clean of excessive dirt or lubricant and report discrepancies to lead person or supervisor
- Complete all necessary paperwork and enter daily production data into company database
- Participate in department production and safety meetings as required

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Skills:
To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements mentioned below are representative of the knowledge and ability required:
- Comprehend simple verbal and written instructions
- Use measurement and quality control devices
- Have basic math skills
- Able to read and follow instructions
- Displays proper safe lifting techniques

Education:
High School

Experience:
1-4 years

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Must be able to speak and understand the English language and have the ability to read and write legibly

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- Stand at workstation during entire shift
- Have good range of motion -- reach with hands and arms
- Make substantial repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers
- Be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds of weight regularly
- Good vision in order to perform activities such as inspection of small parts for defects and/or assembly of parts at close distances to the eyes
