Job Description

Do you have experience working with slip rings? This is the position for you! This is a direct hire position with competitive wage and benefits. Our client is currently is seeking a qualified candidate with strong mechanical skills from a mechanical manufacturing, production, or machine shop environment to work as a Slip Ring Assembly Technician / Mechanical Assembler.

- Experience in identifying mechanical components; and to perform required mechanical and final machine assembly.
- Familiar with manufacturing processes, machine shop practices, and assembly methods.
- Familiar with standard materials used in machinery building, such as metals, plastics, etc.
- Familiar with drilling, tapping, layouts of holes, and other basic assembly functions.
- Ability to measure and analyze tolerance-critical components.
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues.
- Has manual dexterity and understanding to use in-house measurement instruments, including: scales, calipers, micrometers, height gage, gages, etc.
- Must maintain a safe working environment by complying with instructions and guidelines.
- Possesses a positive "can-do" attitude, works effectively, demonstrates persistence and moves consistently towards goals, having a solid work ethic that results in consistent accomplishment, and dependability.
- Ability to work effectively in a group environment.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and other precision measurement tools.
- Basic electrical knowledge is a plus.
- Maintain safe working environment by complying with instructions and guidelines.
- Work entails a fair amount of standing, reaching, pulling, stooping, and must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Working hours: 1st shift

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience in manufacturing, assembly, or maintenance required
- Experience assembling machinery from drawings or description of parts required
- Experience assembling using basic hand tools and small power tools required
- 2+ years of mechanical assembly preferred
- 2+ years of blueprint reading preferred
- Fabrication/Machining experience preferred
- Effective communication skills and team player mentality.
