Job Description

Our Client, a business service company, has an opening for a Benefit Specialist. Successful candidate is responsible for assisting with the administration and ongoing delivery of benefit and leave programs. The Benefit Specialist will identify and educate employees and leaders on benefit plans and options and assist in preparing benefit communications for employee orientation, open enrollment, training sessions, projects and/or audits.

Benefit Program Support
--Assists with the day-to-day maintenance and administration of benefit programs to ensure efficient and accurate transaction processing
--Provides support in the planning and roll-out of the annual benefits open enrollment period
--Serves as the central point of contact for benefit related issues, questions or concerns
--Provides information to employees regarding related policies and procedures.

Benefit Communications
--Identifies employee communications and educational needs; prepares communication materials for employee orientations, training sessions, projects, open enrollment and other events, as needed
--Assists with employee orientations and other group presentations explaining specific provisions of benefit plans; prepares reports, files, correspondence and other documents

Legal and Regulatory Awareness and Compliance
--Ensures legal and regulatory requirements are met and legal documents are prepared and filed in an accurate manner

Leave Program
--Assists with the day-to-day administration of leave programs

Working hours: Business Hours 8:00 am to 5:00 pm


--Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
--Initiates and leads verbal and written dialogue with area management in order to identify needs, makes recommendations and checks for understanding
--Ability to organize and prioritize workloads
--Research, evaluate/analyze and problem-solving skills with a structured approach
--High Attention to detail to provide high quality work
--Keyboard skills (typing,10key, alpha-numeric)
--Maintain professional telephone etiquette in a variety of call situations
--Flexible and adaptable team player

Bachelor's Degree is required. Preferred degree in Human Resources, or business degree.

Minimum of 2 years of HR/Customer Facing experience is required, of which 1 year in human resources is required. Experience working in benefit administration is preferred.
