Job Description

The Selling Branch Manager is accountable for creating and implementing a successful marketing strategy to meet/exceed sales/profit targets and for developing staff to assist in achieving the branch's financial/operational goals. The ideal fit for this role has a proven track record in B2B sales, has created a book of business sand nurtured accounts for prospects to business partners. This is a hunter role, cold calling and selling.

Sales & Business Development:
Develop and implement an effective marketing strategy to increase sales and maximize profits by evaluating potential of client base, developing new accounts and increase the revenue of existing accounts.
Maintain communication with established clients to ensure successful business development and to promote client and employee retention through exemplary customer service.
Develop and implement an effective recruiting strategy to ensure the availability of qualified flexible/full-time employees in order to meet current and anticipated needs.
Utilize established marketing programs to increase sales and maximize profits.
Analyze reports and operating statements to determine if the marketing strategy is producing the desired result. Take appropriate action to modify strategy or correct deficiencies so as to ensure goals are achieved.
Evaluate the potential for expanding the client base and increasing revenue from existing accounts.
Maintain personal contact with active clients to ensure they are satisfied with the quality of service they are receiving.
Select staff according to established hiring criteria to maximize productivity and meet financial objectives.
Ensure staff members complete the required training and ongoing learning opportunities.
Create an environment that will motivate staff to achieve established goals and that will have a positive effect on turnover.
Implement steps to minimize workers compensation and unemployment costs.
Ensure the timely collection of all accounts receivable. Take appropriate steps to resolve delinquencies.
Responsible for the overall growth and profitability of the assigned market.
Responsible for outside public relations calls.
Responsible for supporting the inside office to ensure proper procedures are being followed.
Other duties as assigned by management to help support the growth of your Spherion market.
Operational & Financial Management:

Staff Management:
Develop effective recruiting strategies to identify qualified candidates for internal staff positions.
Develop a fully operational and qualified staff by hiring and training employees according to established company guidelines.
Identify developmental/career opportunities to ensure staff retention.
Coach and counsel associates on behavioral and performance issues, document and take corrective action as necessary.
Conduct regular staff meetings.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Communicate and coordinate the various aspects of branch operations required to ensure compliance (Worker's Compensation, Unemployment, Human Resources, Legal, etc.).
Financial management of branch operations (budgeting, forecasting, monthly P&L review, credit, and collections, etc.).
Implement, monitor and comply with company programs/initiatives.
Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all branch activities.
Participate in local professional, business and civic organizations to enhance personal development and to promote company recognition.


4-7 years


Four-year college degree or 5 years of equivalent business experience.
Minimum of four years related management experience with a strong emphasis on sales and supervision.
Ability to analyze profit/loss statements and other related financial data to make sound business decisions.
Strong leadership, managerial, organizational and communication skills.
Ability to perform business development and external sales activities.
Adaptability, flexibility and the ability to maintain effectiveness during change.
Computer literacy.
Ability to work flexible/extended hours when necessary.
