Job Description

Spherion in Dayton is now seeking a Business Development Manager/Sales for our Dayton, OH Office. The Business Development Manager is accountable for increasing the revenue by developing both new and existing clients in the Dayton market.

Sales/Sales Management: Utilize appropriate interpersonal styles and methods of communication to develop existing and obtain new accounts.
• Achieve sales objectives through use of marketing programs for sales planning, prospecting and developing accounts.
• Overcome client objections and general problem solving.
• Make follow up client service calls after the sale.
• Establish and maintain productive client relations with existing accounts, as well as general public relations and networking within the community in an effort to develop new business.
• Submit required activity reports completed and in a timely manner.
• Utilize established marketing programs to increase sales and maximize profits.
• Maintain personal contact with prospects and clients.
• Evaluate potential for expanding the client base and increasing revenue from existing accounts.
• Maintain personal contact with active clients to ensure they are satisfied with the quality of service they are receiving.
• Responsible for providing support to the inside staff when necessary.
• Abide by all policies and procedures of Spherion.

Operations/Administration: Coordinate with Client Service staff to ensure Quality Control standards are being met. Monitor service for compliance with all federal, state and local government laws and guidelines, as well as all Spherion of Lima Inc. policies and procedures. 
• Work with Client Service staff to ensure clients' needs are being met. 
• Maintain thorough working knowledge of all services offered by Spherion as well as those of the competition, i.e., marketing share, pricing, services offered, etc. 
• Other duties as assigned by management.

• College degree with concentration in business related subjects.
• Prior staffing experience is highly preferred
• Two years of related experience with at least one year in an outside sales capacity.
• History of success evidenced by increased responsibilities and/or promotions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal problem solving skills.
• Self starter with strong initiative to achieve goals and a high energy level.
• Good planning and organizing skills to achieve business unit goals.
• Additional requirements include: Initiative, Oral Communication, Planning and Organizing, Customer Service Orientation, Tenacity, and Sales Persuasiveness
