What it means to be the Business Development Manager at Spherion:

As a Business Development Manager with Spherion you will cultivate existing relationships, break into new accounts and create long standing partnerships with business and industry across the community and two states.

Core Responsibilities:

* Drive profitable bottom-line revenue growth of temporary staffing and professional services divisions by strategically positioning our services at all decision-making levels.
* Establish and maintain relationships with CEOs of Fortune 500 companies to local business owners and hiring managers.
* Secure new accounts and expand upon an existing book of business.
* Conduct face-to-face meetings with decision makers to understand staffing needs and recommend temporary, workforce management and professional staffing solutions.
* Effectively follow up with prospects and clients to develop business, expand partnerships and grow our presence in the marketplace.
* BE the market place expert with a deep understanding of how business trends and competitive activity impact our unique selling proposition, creating strategies that will fuel the pipeline and maintain our leadership market position.
* Work with the staffing/recruiting team to ensure superior staffing service to clients.

We're seeking a creative thinker who enjoys building relationships and discovering solutions. We also enjoy working with each other and value collaboration so good communication skills and a sense of humor are essential.


1-4 years


You would be a great fit for this role if you:

* Make closing a record-breaking deal look as easy as pie because you have an impressive list of documented wins and an enviable little black book of business contacts.

* Possess a Bachelor's degree in Sales, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration or related field and clocked at least 2 years of business-to-business outside sales experience, preferrably in a service related industry that requires a consultative sales approach

*Can sell ice to an eskimo and win over the toughest critic with your excellent written and verbal communication skills along with your stellar problem solving abilities.

*Are an innovator when it comes to sniffing out leads and growing your portfolio, fluent in social media, technically savvy and well versed in MS Office.

* Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

*Thrive in being active in the community, participating in a number of monthly networking functions that span breakfast, lunch and after hours on occassion.
