Job Description

Primary Function
This position is responsible for the design, development, testing, maintenance, and support of organization-wide data analytics and reporting solutions which allow SCHA to manage a broad profile of member services, provider network considerations, and regulatory requirements.

1. Knows and loves working with business intelligence tools, is comfortable accessing and working with data from multiple sources, and passionately partners with the business to identify strategic opportunities and deliver results.
2. Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality, in support of department quality and efficiency objectives.
3. Suggest and proactively implement new report development and enhancements to existing reporting used for management decisions and monitoring.
4. Assist in the performance tuning of complex T-SQL queries and stored procedures.
5. Participate in the support and development of ETL packages that serve as the conduits of data into and out of our internal data warehouses.
6. Identify, analyze, and report data trends across data sets and work with Management to prioritize information needs.
7. Conduct research and collect data that will help in continual project development that will meet customer needs, in support of sustaining agency viability.
8. Other duties assigned within the scope, responsibility and requirements of the job.

Skill Sets:
- Expertise in T-SQL; adept at writing fast and reusable SQL and has QA'd and optimized other people's queries.
- A committed, enthusiastic team player, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Great at translating data-speak to internal teams, e.g., Health Services, Compliance, etc.
- Possesses an internal drive to answer "why?" questions, excellent analytical abilities, strong technical skills, as well as superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Adept at working with large datasets and has a proven track record of organizing and making sense of data as well as determining reporting requirements.
- Good understanding of performance considerations in large data analysis; knowledge of data mapping, data integration and data warehousing.
- ETL experience using SSIS from heterogeneous data sources.
- Experience working with reporting and data analysis tools, such as Power BI, SSRS, and SAS.
- Strong data and trend visualization skills (understanding of appropriate visualization techniques based on the data set)
- A self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to think big (while paying careful attention to detail) and enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Language Skills:
Must be able to read and write in English. Must have advanced verbal and written communication
skills; needs to possess the ability to present complex information in a clear manner, must be
able to read and analyze reports, including contractual language and governmental regulations.
Ability to write standard operating procedures and/or technical requirement documentation.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with technical and non-technical

Mathematical Skills:
Must have sufficient basic arithmetical aptitude, with a good understanding of statistical analysis

Reasoning Ability:
Must use high-level, complex problem-solving logic in order to understand cause and effect
relationships and be able to draw conclusions from data, regulatory requirements, and the use of
current best practices; Requires the use of considerable judgment and broad decision making,
both technically and administratively.
