Job Description

We are currently looking for an experienced medical records file clerk for a client of ours to become proficient using the file maintenance functionality within the CLIENT'S COMPLETE MEDICAL RECORDS SYSTEMS. Data entry and maintenance of items into each system's, item master database including both inventory and non-inventory items.

II. JOB DUTIES

All the criteria-based duties within this document will be performed according to established policies, procedures, and guidelines within the department and the hospital.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

1. Working with CSF to maintain the contracts in MDS.
2. Become proficient in product knowledge.
3. Responsible for all item file maintenance for CLIENT.
a. Descriptions (Maintained to conform with each systems naming convention)
b. Unit of measure (ie: each, box, case etc.)
1. Purchasing
2. Selling
3. Stocking
c. Manufacturer ID numbers
d. Status (i.e. Inactive, substitute relationships)
e. Expense codes for each hospital
f. Patient charge #s
g. HCPC codes (Medicare billing)
h. Product class & type (to be defined / will enable us to analyze usages by logical groupings)
i. In the future, maintain product expiration data information
j. In the future, maintain web based, marketing content information & photographs
NOTE: Some data elements may be modified by other users (i.e.: desired inventory par levels, EDI purchasing unit of measure)
4. Setting up new products in all three systems.
5. Applying appropriate changes to these files.
6. Clean up the integrity of existing data in all three item files.
a. Evaluate the current condition of these files.
b. Develop a strategy for correcting any discrepancies.
c. Implement of applying corrections.
d. Monitor and report on the progress and remaining work effort for this project.
7. Maintain a record of supporting documentation for maintenance requests.

Skills:

High School diploma

IV. SKILLS
-
1.-Proven ability to work as a team member.
2.-Ability to take initiative, work with little supervision and solve problems independently.
3.-Able to prioritize complex daily activities.
4.-Proficient in the advanced use of microcomputer software and database queries in a Windows environment (Excel, Word, PSQuery, etc.)
5.-Must be trained and become proficient in @task and GHX EDI confirmation system.

V. EXPERIENCE

2 years of data entry experience, healthcare product knowledge preferred, familiarity with contracts and
-pricing preferred.
