Job Description

Our biotechology client is looking for some assistance as a Chemical Regulatory Associate. This position features the use on an on site gym (with locker rooms!), a gorgeous cafeteria, and an on site basic medical clinic! This role does require a candidate who has a chemistry background and knowledge of chemistry procedures and terminology.

The position is responsible for the improvement of all aspects of company material hazard assessments; customer MSDS documentation, internal distribution, and product hazard labeling. The individual ensures that the company meets all product safety and transportation requirements to meet global business objectives. Additionally, maintain and improve internal safety processes including hazard communications and safety training.

- Support timely and accurate hazard assessments for new and modified products to assure compliance with domestic and international safety regulations
- Support the review and approval process for new and modified product labels for product safety content and compliance to international labeling standards to meet production and regulatory needs
- Analyze chemical make-up of products; this is analyzing the finished product versus mixing a product
- Maintain and utilize methods for creating and deploying product safety information and documentation (MSDS???s, labels, shipping information, scrap instructions) and maintenance. Maintain records as necessary to comply with business and regulatory requirements.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

- Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to read, understand and assist others in developing means to comply with regulations while meeting business needs
- Must be highly self-motivated, organized, and an individual requiring limited supervision/guidance. Successful candidate will be able to facilitate employee- and customer-friendly business solutions involving product safety issues
- Experience in selecting, implementing, maintaining and improving product safety software would be helpful
- Experience working with SAP and Excel


4-7 years

- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a background in Chemistry
- Prior chemical regulatory experience, Occupational Health &Safety education and/or training
- Must be comfortable working on computers most of the day as this is a desk position
- 3 years minimum experience in a customer service environment
- 5 years experience product safety programs, or product safety management
