Job Description

Perform maintenance on machines,cleaning and organization of tools and work area. Set up and program CNC machines; ensure parts re in compliance with customer drawing specifications.

Skills

Knowledge of G-codes and their function
Good to excellent math and trigonometry skills
Extensive knowledge of tooling and set-ups
Knowledge of all types of materials and their machining properties.

Ability to perform precision layout
Ability to set up shop machinery
Ability to repair tooling
Ability to perform milling and turning operations
Ability to broach hexagon, square and round holes and keyways
Ability to use precision measuring instruments

Responsibilities

Operate all equipment as such to assure all work is performed without harm to equipment and people.
Read work orders, production schedules and drawings to determine deliver requirments, quality specifications and requirements tocomplete the job.
Study drawings and blueprints to determine scope of work and the best methods to compleete the job.
Keep Drawings & Travelers with parts at all times.
Generate complete and accurate tool paths to perform all necessary machining of parts
Responsible for the necessary maintenance of date transfer to machines.
Responsible for creating back up of all CNC programs
Request - order special parts/tools before job is started
Set up of CNC machines
Complete necessary maintenance on machines
Check tooling, components and fluids of a regular basis
Conduct preoperational checks of equipment
Select carbide tools and holders
Perform dimensional checks
Select milling cutters
Develop CNC programs 
Program CNC machines using G&M codes
Develop CNC programs using CAD/CAM system
