Job Description

Our client is looking for a lead to program all or most CNC machines and help the CNC team as needed. This individual must be a tool-maker, and be able to multi-task. The facility is mid-sized and family oriented. If you are an innovative thinker, and have experience in tool making, operating CNC machines, and programming, this may be a great opportunity for you. We are looking for a leader with excellent organizational skills, and at least 3-5 years of CNC experience.

*Utilizes CAM system to program machining of parts to blueprint specification
*Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, cad data, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters
*Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
*Sets-up mills and other equipment by installing and adjusting chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices and parts.
*Maintains specifications by observing, troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
*Ability to work with single part production.
*Time management skills
*Plans stock and cutting tool inventory
*Business/production continuity
*Team-oriented

Working hours: 1st shift

Skills:
*High School or equivalent education
*3-5 years CNC experience
*Ability to lift up to 50 lb as needed
*Ability to read, write and speak English
*Must be willing to work overtime if needed
*Mechanical aptitude with ability to maximize equipment for optimal material layout
*Machining background
*Attention to detail with strong organizational skills and time management skills in order to optimize machine use and juggle several assignments at one time
