Job Description

Essential Functions:

Must be able to interpret construction plans.
Ensures that all required specifications, codes, policies, procedures, and processes are followed per the direction of the Project Manager.
Obtains permits and licenses as required per contract.
Collaborates with engineers, architects, and design team, to determine plans, specifications, general and special conditions, addendums, subcontract requirements, and bid paperwork including RFI's.
Must know basic concepts of scheduling construction work.
Works multiple projects simultaneously as required and directed by the Project Manager.
Understands subcontracts and reviews details to determine discrepancies.
Reviews all product submittals in detail to determine compliance with the contract documents.
Submits change orders as directed.
Makes sure all required documents such as DAS 140's and DAS 142's are submitted.
Creates and facilitates notices such as 48-hour notices to subcontractors upon direction from the Project Manager.
Helps identify and resolve problems and communicates to the Project Manager to keep project on schedule.
Provides follow-up regarding previous problems/issues and tracks/reports appropriately.
Handles administrative tasks related to maintenance, repair, and replacement needed for equipment and vehicles, ensuring good working order.
Maintains a clear sense of direction and focus.
May assist with scheduling inspections with city, county, or Division of State Architect (DSA).
Ensures all grievances or complaints are reported, handled, documented appropriately per the Project Manager's instruction.
Maintains records of all project activity and ensures a successful hand-off package to Project Managers.
May take on other duties as assigned.


Three (3) years' work experience performing Project Engineer OR Management Assistant duties in the construction field or substantially similar work as described herein (i.e. scheduling, billing, change orders, schedule of values, RFI's)
Must be ethical and punctual, work well under pressure of deadlines, fulfilling obligations as promised and work overtime as needed
Must be an analytic, detailed self-starter and be dependable, adaptable, reliable, and available as needed
Be self-motivated and work semi-independently with a proactive attitude
Must be computer literate with intermediate knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs and Outlook for email
Knowledge of Timberline/Sage 300 and Procore programs, highly desired
