Job Description

Responsible for submitting and updating credentialing applications and licenses to all necessary agencies for providers prior to their start date; submits hospital privileges documentation to necessary agencies. Reviews credentialing of providers and assures that all documentation has been obtained, reviewed and verified. Maintains current credentialing files for Dental and Medical physicians and mid-level providers, updating as necessary or required. Responsible to prepare and maintain reports and summaries of credentialing activities such as accreditation, membership or facility privileges, etc. Responsible for maintaining malpractice insurance policies, updating any personal database and sending out notice/correspondence to providers for any missing or soon-expiring licenses and perform follow-up procedures.

Working hours: 8-5

Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years experience in healthcare setting experience in credentialing. Two years of experience as a biller in the healthcare setting or other similar position may also be considered as substitute for credentialing experience depending on the level of experience. Proficient with computer systems, networks and software applications such as word processors and spreadsheets required. Ability to type accurately as a speed of at least 45 WPM
