Job Description

Our well established and respected client in Santa Barbara seeks an experienced Manager of Denials and Utilization Review. This is a six month contract position. Duties will include:
- Active member of the UR committee
- Manages review staff and their activity
- Serves as liaison and resource to other revenue cycle departments
- Identifies, coordinates and leads projects for root cause analysis of denials
- Facilitates educational opportunities to improve patient quality

Working hours: 9am-5pm

Qualified candidates will possess a current California Nursing license or the ability to obtain a license upon hire, two (2) years direct patient care experience, and three (3) years of experience in denials and appeals, UR and case management in an acute care setting. Two (2) years supervisory experience is also required. A demonstrated understanding of InterQual and Milliman guidelines, community standards related to relevant to inpatient acute care, and payer denial and appeal processes also required. A certification in case management is preferred
