Job Description

Receives full job or cover from Press Ready or Production Control to print sheets for the Bindery Department. Follows department standards and helps maintain work flow with various responsibilities such as: training and communication with co-workers, lead and/or Supervisor.

- Operate and maintain multiple presses in a shift.
- Complete scheduled maintenance on operating presses during shift.
- Makes sure printed layouts and thumbnails match printed sheets from the press.
- Checks for type flow (will not be perfect but needs to be close enough) and image quality.
- Quality check every job (book, commercial, or cover) that comes off the press.
- Scans out job through YBS and sign-out sheet and delivers to the Bindery.
- Creates and prints variable data jobs.
- Does work as required by Department Supervisor or Lead.
- Practices policies regarding safety and personnel/benefit issues, etc.
- Assists in meeting work quota.
- Communicates with all employees including other shifts.
- Maintains work flow at seasonally appropriate level.
- Maintain a clean work environment.

Working hours: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Various Shifts Available)

- Adobe InDesign CS3, Excel, Darwin, Free Flow Rip, HP Server and Rip
- iGen-3, iGen-4, Indigo 5500, Indigo 7000, and Adobe Acrobat Software
- Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as tracking sheets, Order Confirmation Sheets (OCS), work orders, and Production Control Expediters (PCE).

No Degree Required

1-4 years

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Previous experience with digital press operation in a mfg. environment
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
