Job Description

Our reputable and historic local client has an immediate opening for a Financial Controller to lead in all technical financial aspects of the company while possessing the aptitude and desire to engage in financial planning, analyze the company's financial strengths and weaknesses, and propose corrective actions.

This position is responsible for maintaining all financial records of the company -- including:

preparing and monitoring all budgets and forecasts
administering payroll
timely presentation of reports (using QuickBooks software)
maintenance of financial records in good order for annual audit
preparation and support for annual audit
maintenance of own computer files in good order and manner
any other duties that may be assigned by the Executive Director.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Experience/Familiarity and skill with the following tasks is required:

- Deposits: Daily posting of deposits, pledges and credit card charges from ticketing and development. Monthly reconciliation of all bank and investment accounts.

- AP: Input vendor invoices when received with completed and authorized Check Request form. Interact with vendors as necessary.

- General Ledger: Create, input and file monthly journals necessary for preparation of monthly financial information, statements and reports. Reconcile all balance sheet accounts.

- Reports: Timely oversight and processing of financial and statistical information for internal, budget, grant, audit, Union, governmental, and other purposes.

- Payroll: Preparation of all payrolls using Paylocity

- Grants: Provide financial data and budget information as needed for governmental and private grants applications and final reports.

- Human Resources: Maintenance of employment payroll records. Assist Executive Assistant with administration of benefits including coordination with health insurer, HUB insurance broker, and Ascensus 403(b) plan staff


4-7 years


- Previous experience (3+ yrs) working in professional Accounting Dept
- Candidate must have the aptitude and desire to work with management in financial planning, diagnosing strengths and weakness and taking the best course of action.
- Experience working with Paylocity and 403b partners


- Bachelor's Degree or above
