Job Description

The E&I Technician is a skilled position that provides an advanced level of expertise in maintaining, troubleshooting, and testing the plant instrumentation, power distribution, motor control, and electromechanical devices associated with the plant equipment. This position performs tasks either independently or as part of a team to ensure safe, productive, and cost efficient maintenance of plant equipment. He/she has the ability to work under minimum supervision to complete planned and unplanned preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance.

Internal and External Relationships

The E&I Technician assists during periods of process upsets to help the plant personnel diagnosis and resolve problems. He/she provides support to the maintenance planner to identify job scopes, estimate manpower, and identify tools, supplies, materials, and 3rd party services needed to get a work order ready to be scheduled. He/she maintains good working relationships with all internal departments and personnel located at other sites.

Interaction with Supervisor
The E&I Technician meets with the Maintenance Supervisor daily for work assignments, guidance, approvals, resolutions, plan future work orders, etc.

???complies with plant???s environmental, safety, and health requirements
???promotes a safe working environment and uses permits to work, job hazard analysis, pre-startup safety reviews, lockout/tag out, proper PPE, and job procedures and plans
???adheres to federal, state, and local electrical codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
???verifies equipment is properly installed and safe to operate ??? identifies and corrects safety-related issues
???operates and maintains all utility chill water, tempered water, sanitary waste water, cooling water, heating and cooling, fire protection, natural gas, nitrogen, steam generation, and compressed air systems
???completes all equipment PMs on schedule that maintain the mechanical integrity of equipment considered covered by the plant???s process safety management program
???manages change by revising drawings as-built and ensures plant???s management of change process is utilized
???participates in administrative maintenance of IOM manuals, technical references, drawings, and diagrams
???has ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical one line diagrams, ladder logic, schematics, etc..
???collects water samples and maintains documentation for NPDES Discharge Monitoring Reporting
???provide support to create job scopes, estimate manpower, and identify tools, supplies, materials, and 3rd party services needed to complete assigned tasks
???performs preventive maintenance (PMs) on critical equipment as scheduled by SAP.
???highly organized and maintains a strict and dependable schedule to complete work assignments on time
???able to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

Working hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

-proficient using PC with Microsoft Office Suite software programs
-troubleshoots and repairs problems with electrical devices and instrumentation associated with pneumatic conveying systems, weighing, packaging, conveying , and shrink wrapping machines, gas dryers (air/fuel controllers), centrifuge separators, boilers, engines, heaters, and generators
-trained to safely use test instruments, hand and power tools
-maintains test equipment used to troubleshoot or configure instruments and electrical equipment
-installs, configures, and calibrates pressure, temperature, flow, analytical instruments, control valve positioners, switches, and electro mechanical / pneumatic devices
-maintains gas and fire detectors, control devices, interlocks, alarms, and shutdown systems
-maintains and troubleshoots normal power and emergency backup power distribution systems
