Job Description

Join our west side client seeking someone who has a keen eye for details! This position is temporary working with a supportive manager and a team of other individuals; great opportunity for experience!

Position Summary:
The Enrollment and Billing Specialist determines applicants' eligibility for enrollment and continuation or extension of coverage in accordance with contracts, member certificate, and other regulatory entities. Provides eligibility information and acts as a liaison for all enrollment and eligibility issues. Reconciles enrollment related discrepancies.

1. Responsible for verification of initial and ongoing eligibility and enrollment of members for assigned groups.
2. Review enrollment applications to determine eligibility of individuals for coverage in accordance with applicable contracts. Obtain and evaluate additional documentation from applicants as necessary.
3. Process quality assurance/error reports timely and accurately to ensure appropriate coverage for members.
4. Prepare and adjudicate member and group accounts for billing.
5. Prepare member and group statements on a monthly/quarterly basis.
6. Identify and escalate problems and opportunities to the Enrollment & Billing Supervisor & Manager.
7. Maintain compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
8. Initiate billing and enrollment adjustments and coordinate reconciliation of billing problems with Accounts Receivable Specialist (ARS). Work closely with ARS to ensure communication of discrepancies in billing.
9. Answer and assist live customer matters with internal departments and external groups.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

- Bachelor's Degree OR Associate Degree and 1 year of relevant experience OR High School Diploma and 2+ years of relevant experience
- High level attention to detail and ability to use appropriate judgement.
- Ability to collect, organize, and analyze information.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to compose clear and accurate routine and non-routine correspondence.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, to meet time sensitive deadlines and to organize workload with minimal supervision.

High School

1-4 years

- Bachelor's Degree OR Associate Degree and 1 year of relevant experience OR High School Diploma and 2+ years of relevant experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically strong Excel skills, with the ability to use/learn company specialized software and hardware
- Previous experience working in the health insurance industry and with systems used in processing of applications and billing transactions preferred
- Eligibility determination and premium billing experience preferred
