Job Description

The Medical Receptionist requires one year of clerical experience working in either a medical office. Must effectively communicate with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds with respect and professionalism. Must be proficient in MS Word and able to type 30 CWPM. HS Diploma or equivalent required. Bilingual a Plus but not required.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST:
This is a responsible Medical Receptionist position that requires a great deal of client contact. Must exercise independent judgment and demonstrate specific departmental knowledge.
*Serves as point of access for all non-emergent customer inquiries and contacts, responding to all requests in a respectful, efficient and effective manner.
*Routes calls successfully.
*Determines next step for customers seeking services (through a series of pre-determined questions.)
*Provides information related to community resources.
*Serves as a model of excellent customer service.
*Demonstrates excellent teamwork marked by mutual respect and collaboration.
*Responsible for ensuring a consistent flow of clients and data in the medical service delivery system.
*Responsible for co-managing all aspects of insurance verification/authorization for individuals referred internally for additional services.
