Job Description

This position will focus on providing construction cost, progress, monitoring and schedule controls.
- Cost Management: Provide Cost tracking, reporting against established construction budget.
- Reporting of raw information to Construction Manager (CM), Assistant Construction Manager (ACM) during construction.
- Earned Value Analysis: Provide cost trending reporting to required stakeholders to ensure pro-active management related to forecasted expenditures is mandatory.


Specific Accountabilities
- Set up at project start earned value reporting and tracking schedule for the project scope broken down by the WBS, and to update and monitor performance of the project and the contractors based on the results. The frequency of the reports will vary dependent on project requirements and constraints. In general the updates are performed daily, weekly, or per shift dependent on the pace of the items being monitored.
- Ensure that all costs and hours expended on the project are allocated to the correct budget (WBS) accounts.
- Interface with the contractors and field staff to ensure timely and accurate provision of daily LEM Sheets.
- Validate daily LEM Sheets and other similar contractor submittals for agreed rates, and the correct WBS coding for the works performed.
- Review of Contractor Invoices, ensuring that the coding, amounts, and reported quantities are in agreement with the information provided by the contractor to date, and in agreement with the terms and conditions of the contract.

Working hours: 8am-5pm

--Cost management for assigned construction work with tracking of actual expenditure, incurred costs and changes.
--Forecast construction costs with detailed cost variance analysis.
--Cost controls in project lifecycle in a proactive manner (trend reporting).

--Software Experience: Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Project, Access) and have a basic understanding of scheduling principles including data input.


--Construction Experience: Must have construction experience related to cost and scheduling controls of multi discipline projects, on actual project sites. Oil and Gas industry related experience will be required, as the logic and sequencing of tasks is dependent upon this previous experience. Industrial Construction experience, and interfaces with the Engineering, Procurement, Contracting, Execution, and Commissioning phases of the project are highly desirable.


--Formal Training & Education: Any formal training in regards to Scheduling, Estimating, Cost Controls, and Planning will be of a great benefit. The candidate should poses either a College, or University training in one of the Engineering disciplines, or of a Business/Accounting field.
