Job Description

Privately held Company in the U.S is partnering with Spherion Staffing to identify the right person for the vacancy of Field Service Technician. As the Field Service Tech, you will support field installations of pharmaceutical packaging equipment. Specifically, installation and field support of blister packaging machinery, vision systems and related packaging equipment. Candidates must have a good electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills. This position requires up to 70% travel to customer sites in North America, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Canada, and Europe. Other duties may include small project development and support of factory acceptance efforts.

Responsibilities:
Install, startup and service of automated packaging machines - travel may be required up to 70% of position
Under the direction of engineers - Troubleshoot and/or modify PLC code, HMI code and servo code as well as modify PLC and HMI code
Adhere to established standards relating to controls and service. Participate in developing and refining standards for controls and service
Assist with R&D efforts
Participate and/or lead in Factory Acceptance Testing
Train customers and co-workers on systems as required
Problem solve and troubleshooting packaging equipment
Provide detailed descriptions of service trips

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
Have an aptitude for Electro-Mechanical systems and have an understanding of pneumatics, industrial controls including (PLC, HMI and servo systems) and machine wiring
Self-starter and able to work in fast paced production environment with minimal supervision
Ability to read/update schematic diagrams and BOMs
Candidate must be willing to travel within the U.S as well as Internationally
Excellent communication skills

Education:
High School

Experience:
4-7 years

Qualifications:
High School diploma required - An associate degree in an electrical / mechanical field is preferred
Candidate must have 3-5 years of experience in a related automation industry
Experience in FDA-regulated environment preferred
Experience with Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation products a plus
