Job Description

This position is responsible for maintaining all financial records of the client; preparing and monitoring all budgets and forecasts; administering payroll; timely presentation of
reports (using QuickBooks software); maintenance of financial records in good order for annual audit;
preparation and support for annual audit, maintenance of own computer files in good order and manner; and
other duties that may be assigned by the Executive Director.

Daily posting of deposits, pledges and credit card charges from ticketing and development. Deposit checks via Remote Deposit Capture scanner from Montecito Bank & Trust. Monthly reconciliation of all bank and investment accounts.

Accounts Payable:
Input vendor invoices when received with completed and authorized Check Request form. Interact with vendors as necessary. Balance credit card receipts and Staples invoices to monthly statements. Prepare monthly vouchers for office rent, health insurance, worker???s compensation, 403b contribution, orchestra dues and orchestra pension. Timely preparation and distribution of checks. Obtaining required signatures for checks over $5,000. Maintaining accounts payable files.

General Ledger:
Create, input and file monthly journals necessary for preparation of monthly financial information, statements and reports. Reconcile all balance sheet accounts.

Timely oversight and processing of financial and statistical information for internal, budget, grant, audit, Union, governmental, and other purposes.

Preparation of all payrolls using Paylocity including administration, education teaching artists, junior ensemble and youth symphony conductors and staff, and orchestra musicians (following concerts, based on information from personnel manager). Maintain files of all payroll information. Prepare and input journal entries for each payroll.

Provide financial data and budget information as needed for governmental and private grants applications and final reports. Work with development and grant writer to complete annual California Data Arts Council survey.

Proper maintenance and filing of all financial and statistical records.

Human Resources:
Maintenance of employment payroll records. Assist Executive Assistant with administration of benefits including coordination with health insurer, HUB insurance broker, and Ascensus 403(b) plan staff regarding Symphony staff and annual 5500 reporting.

4-7 years

- previous experience as a financial controller or similar role
- Bachelor's degree in finance/economics
- previous HR experience preferred
