Job Description

Spherion Staffing is hiring Flexo Press Operators for our client in Indianapolis, IN!

Jobs/Shifts Available:
1st shift Monday - Friday: $18-$20/hour Based on Experience

Responsibilities:
Determine print specs. Read a job jacket to identify proper die(s), ink(s), print cylinders and material to use.
Able to determine the amount of good footage needed for the job (double checking the job ticket for accuracy)
Load proper roll onto press along with splicing new roll on.
Operate web guide in order to center web in press.
Identifying the correct wind direction to mount plates
Apply plate mounting tape
Mount plate straight and center on cylinder
Pour ink into the pan.
Able to identify which type of ink needed - Film ink or Thermal ink
Place print cylinder into press w/o damaging anilox
Determine which hole to insert plate shaft into depending on size
Apply correct plate impression from each side avoiding over/under impression and/or damage to plate
Lining up each plate to crosshairs (if more than 1 color)
Lining up print to die cut
Lining up print & die cut to perf
Determining the correct amount of wind tension.
Make adjustments to ink for color
Set up Foil stamping unit
Set up numbering unit
Able to identify which anilox to use when going from light to dark, or dark to light.
Troubleshoot ink adhesion issues
Troubleshoot die cutting issues
De-lam/Re-lam
Install sheeter/conveyor
Set up pin feed unit
Set up fan folder
Run Laminate
Hit 100% of standard consistently
Adjust slitter knives.
Prepare ink vats in proper order to match print deck location and ink up press.

Working hours: Various Shifts Available

Skills:
Use Press Quality Control Checklist
Run make ready roll.
Pull sample rolls and archive.
Index finish rolls.
Collect retain samples.
Place roll tags on rolls.
Package rolls according to customer specifications.
Have the product taken to the warehouse.
Performs minor equipment repairs
Cleans press equipment after use
Monitors supply inventory
Press operators may need to halt operations and make corrections and adjustments, relying on experience and critical-thinking skills to make those decisions, which could range from adjusting the flow of ink to tweaking feeder controls.

Education:
No Degree Required

Experience:
10+ years

Qualifications:
Prior experience working with Mark Andy presses specifically.
Candidate should have a minimum of 10 years? experience as a Flexo Press Operator with Mark Andy presses and exhibit competency running the press.

Candidate will be expected to follow all policies set forth in our employee handbook, in addition to submitting to a mandatory drug test and background check in order to be considered for the position with PTI.
