Job Description

Our Client is looking for an experienced Flexographic Machine Operator to Join their team. In this position the operator, converts large master rolls of paper into printed rolls and/or sheets, per job requirements maintaining high quality and efficient production practices.

Reviewing work order to determine product specifications
Set up, adjust and maintain operation of the flexographic press
Responsible for quantity and quality to meet efficiency rates
Ensure raw materials are pulled and ready at the machine
Set up machine to meet order specifications
Loading rolls on unwind stands
Running flexographic press at optimum speed for order requirements
Use a forklift to load or unload machines and move product as needed
Review roll quality throughout run
Verify proper finished product weight and packaging
Deliver high quality finished products to other manufacturing areas
Complete all paperwork accurately
Daily maintenance of machine as well as cleaning work area
Assist in other converting processes as necessary
Effectively communicate with management team

Working hours: 6:00 AM - 5:00 AM (Various Shifts Available)

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to accurately use and read a ruler.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to frequently stand on their feet for extended periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds from ground level. Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Lifting machine shafts for unwinding and rewinding paper rolls, maneuvering master rolls to load in machines.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is regularly exposed to loud noises (hearing protection required). The production area is not climate controlled. The employee will be exposed to heat, cold and humidity.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience:

Proven hands on experience in flexographic printing operation
Forklift Operation experience necessary
Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)

Work Hours: Monday through Thursday 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM - 10 hour shifts with a 45 minute lunch break. If production schedule warrants, work on Friday (and occasionally Saturday) is required.
