To apply please go to www.spherionpajobs.com/apply.php Qualification Must be able to twist, lean, bend, lift, stand or walk the majority of the day on concrete floor Occasional kneeling is sometimes required. High School Diploma/GED required Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs Responsibilities Operator open face furnaces to heat metal to proper temperature prior to forging. Place metal pieces in furnaces, then remove them, using hand tongs when metal color indicates proper forging temperatures. Carry each piece from forging furnace after heating to place in dies in forging equipment to run first step of the forging process. Carry the material from 20 - 35 ft. to the next machine for the next process of the multi-step process Trim and compress finished forgings to specified tolerances. Measure and inspect forged parts to ensure conformance to product specifications. Read worked orders and blueprints to determine specified tolerances and sequences of operations for machine setup. Remove dies form machines when productions runs are finished. Setup machines to produce sample work pieces, and observe operations to detect machine malfunctions and to verify that machine setups conform to specifications. Install, adjust, and remove dies, forging hammers, and stop guides. Follow all safety procedures and wear proper PPE when in shop.
