Job Description

Spherion is looking for an experienced Forklift Operator to manage daily shipping and distribution operations. You will be the one to ensure complete orders are shipped and delivered in a timely manner.
A successful candidate for this position is analytical, well-organized and excels in communication. They must be comfortable with paperwork and information systems and have great knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.
The goal is to ensure that the shipping processes are running smoothly and effectively.

Maintain a safe working environment by monitoring safety procedures and equipment.
Enforce safety rules and regulations.
Review work throughout the work process and at completion to ensure that it has been performed properly.
Inform designated employees or departments of items loaded or problems encountered.
Examine freight to determine loading sequences.
Collaborate with workers and managers to solve work-related problems.
Perform the same work duties as those supervised or perform more difficult or skilled tasks or assist in their performance.
Schedule times of shipment and modes of transportation for materials.
Drive vehicles or operate machines or equipment to complete work assignments or to assist workers.
Explain and demonstrate work tasks to new workers or assign training tasks to experienced workers.
Requisition needed personnel, supplies, equipment, parts, or repair services.

Working hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

No Degree Required

1-4 years

Must have 6 months of experience in forklift driving within an 18 month span.
1+ years shipping/receiving experience.
2+ years management/leadership experience.
