Job Description

The Healthcare Assistant Manager is responsible for coordinating and directing the activities of assigned nursing departments or cost centers. Responsible for monitoring the budget and coordinating the general workflow and efficiency of the office. Nurse Manager will delegate tasks as needed for budgets, timekeeping, reporting, and some employee counseling for a 110 person team.  STRONG temp to hire possiblity with excellent benes once perm.

Oversees office procedures to ensure the smooth operation of the department
Reviews invoices and approves bills for payment.
Ensure that charges for all services rendered meet all compliance standards.
Supervises the timekeeping and payroll process; partners to develop department employee work schedules; is familiar with overtime practices and monitors overtime use.
Monitor monthly financial performance through review of financial statements, payroll system, and other financial data.
Prepares correspondence, coordinates special functions, projects and presentations.
Takes minutes at department meetings and distributing appropriately.
Coordinates conference rooms, AV equipment, and food and beverage requirements.
Deals with shipping vendors, tracking accounts and expenses as necessary to maintain effective operations
Maintains an inventory of office supplies; makes additions and deletions to the standard inventory.
Recruit, interview, hire, and orient all new employees.
Conduct regular staff meetings, set agendas, record and distribute minutes to foster good communication.
Serves as a resource for manager in determining appropriate staffing levels for effective operation of Health Care Service. Collaborates to flex staffing/expenses around volumes.

Working hours: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Various Shifts Available)

Working knowledge of health care financial environment preferred but not required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
Must possess competent writing and editing skills, including sound grammar, spelling, and punctuation abilities along with basic competency in mathematics.
The ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work with frequent interruption is required.
Customer service orientation and the ability to communicate and listen effectively.


1-4 years

Bachelors degree in healthcare, business administration, nursing, or related field required, with 1 to 2 years of relevant leadership experience preferred.
Ability to lead teams, delegate, and communicate effectively. Provides leadership in difficult situations/conflicts and reads situations quickly
