These are Full Time, Temp-to-Hire, Long-Term Careers with options to advance!

911 Call Takers are responsible for receiving and screening routine Non-Emergency & Emergency related calls for Law Enforcement, Fire, Medical, Animal Services and General Public Information.

****12 HOUR SHIFTS - DAYS - NIGHTS - WEEKENDS - HOLIDAYS****

Spherion Temp-to-Hire assignments with on-the-job training at $12.50 per hour

Upon completion of the non-emergency training: Permanent offer of employment

Upon completion of the certification program: Increase in salary to $13.37 per hour

Responsibilities:
911 Call Takers are responsible for receiving and screening routine Non-Emergency & Emergency related calls for Law Enforcement, Fire, Medical, Animal Services and General Public Information.

This is an extremely Fast Paced environment and REQUIRES a team of assertive, active listeners who are highly motivated, well-spoken, individuals with the keen ability to think quickly and process information rapidly while remaining calm, professional and in control of conversations, both non-emergency and emergency related.

Working hours: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Various Shifts Available)

Skills:
Spherion 911 Trainees Are Expected To:
-Maintain knowledge of Hernando County's geography, including map reading skills
-Maintain knowledge of Ten-Codes, Signals for Law Enforcement & Fire Rescue, & Routine Office Procedures
-Learn to rapidly & accurately process requests for information, or direction from units in the field and/or supervisory personnel
-Think clearly, logically, quickly and effectively
-Elicit critical information from citizens
-Maintain clear, concise and accurate logs and records

****12 HOUR SHIFTS - DAYS - NIGHTS - WEEKENDS - HOLIDAYS****

H.C.S.O. 911 Call Takers Are Expected To:
-Think clearly, logically, quickly, and effectively under stress, and in critical emergency situations
-Maintain knowledge of Hernando County's geography, Ten-Codes, Signals for Law Enforcement & Fire Rescue, & Routine Office Procedures
-Gain & maintain control of conversations
-Accurately & rapidly process requests for information, or direction from units in the field and/or supervisory personnel
-Elicit critical information from citizens in a stressful or life threatening situation
-Maintain a calm & professional demeanor
-Complete the FCIC/NCIC & CPR Certification programs within six months of employment
-Successfully complete the Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification program and continue performing the same

Education:
High School

Experience:
0-1 years

Qualifications:
-6-12+ months working experience, preferably in busy Retail, Restaurant or similar environments
-High School or General Education Diploma
-Ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute with 98% or better accuracy
-Ability to think clearly, logically, quickly, effectively and remain calm and in control of conversations in stressful & critical or life threatening situations
-Ability to maintain and retain knowledge of codes, policies, and
