Job Description

Spherion Staffing is looking for an experienced HR and Safety Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing staff operations and business planning of all Human Resources (HR) and Safety & programs. The HR and Safety Manager will plan, direct and manage all HR initiatives including recruitment, compensation, benefits, training and employee relations, ensuring policies, procedures and HR programs are consistently administered, aligned with organizational goals and are in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements and laws. This position is also responsible for supporting company operations by managing the office & assisting with payroll, AP/AR.

Qualified applicants must have a degree in HR or Business and at least 5 years' of related experience.
Direct Hire Opportunity
Salary $25-35/hour DOE

Responsibilities:

- Manage safety program including safety committee, WSI safety management program, workers' compensation claims, safety handbook & policies and procedures
- Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems
- Identify staff vacancies and recruit, interview and select applicants
- Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion and employee benefits
- Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives
- Analyze training needs to assist in employee development
- Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employee separation
- Oversee the evaluation, classification and rating of occupations and job positions
- Manage the drug/alcohol program
- Respond to all calls of employee concerns and consult with the Vice President and President as needed
- Conduct all interviews regarding employee complaints of discrimination, hostile work environment, sexual harassment, safety violations, etc.

- Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business or another related field
- Five years related experience and/or training
- PHR/SPHR Preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
