Job Description

Spherion Staffing is now seeking seven experienced Insurance Claims Tracers to assist on a 9 month temporary assignment with a local medical facility in Wichita Falls, TX. You will be responsible for performing the collections of assigned outstanding insurance claims by exhausting all resources in collection efforts, including but not limited to phone calls to patients and insurance companies as well as written efforts.

Position is temporary only with an expected duration of nine (9) months in length. Working hours will be from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM, subject to vary depending on department needs.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Compiles appropriate data based on insurance payer requirements for accurate follow up
- Utilize accurate time frames assigned by management to ensure prompt follow up for reimbursement, ensuring all written and oral procedures are accurately followed.
- Ensures any mail is worked within three days of receipt
- Submit written inquiries and converse with third party payers efficiently and professionally to determine status of claims
- Demonstrate aggression and persistence with payers while maintaining tact and diplomacy
- Supply payers with requested information in order for the claim to be processed in a timely manner.
- Follow through on resources by contacting other providers and inform them of pended claim due to their outstanding claim information. Contacts patients as needed for required information.
- Ensure all pertinent information is documented in the patient account note file
- Keeps informed on managed care contracts. Reads, retains, and utilizes contract summary sheets to ensure notification of denial of discounts when appropriate

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Requires the use of office equipment such as computer terminals, telephones and telephone headsets, copiers, 10-key adding machines, and fax machine
Ability to effectively and courteously communicate with other persons
Knowledgeable in all areas of insurance, demonstrate tact, diplomacy, and perception required in daily contact with patients and third party payers
Must be able to prioritize collection efforts and work according to oral and written instruction, using good organizational skills and sound judgement
Demonstrate aggression, patience, and persistence to obtain required information on outstanding accounts
Basic mathematical knowledge including understanding of debits and credits for correct account transactions

High School

1-4 years

High School Diploma or equivalent
Previous medical office, collections, or insurance verification experience is required
Familiarity with medical terminology is helpful
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally

Must have proven job stability in order to be considered
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have solid clerical typing skills
Must be willing to submit to drug screen and background check
