Job Description

The Inbound Operations/Inventory Control Manager manages the process of accurately receiving and storing product and supervising all inventory activity to meet the company standards. This position is directly responsible for supervising inbound operations and inventory control. Position is responsible for multiple areas supporting the distribution operation.

- Responsible for administering, supervising and coordinating the DC Cycle Count process and monitoring SAP and JDA Compare Report and Error Queues to ensure the inventory is accurate in the JDA - WMS system and that JDA matches SAP.
- Product slotting, foot prints and movement coupled with storage location maintenance as it pertains to the JDA WMS are key functions of this position.
- Responsible for collecting and analyzing DC inventory data, including measuring and monitoring inventory turns for items in the DC, and coordinating daily investigations of inventory discrepancies and be able to provide root cause analysis. Also will be called upon to investigate customer order credit claims.
- Coordinate and supervise the successful completion of special projects, including product re-labeling, dead inventory removal and kit building. Will manage the product slotting of a large SKU high volume distribution center.
- Responsible for supervising the Inventory Control non-exempt staff and will work with Human Resources regarding personnel decisions.
- Establishes objectives and priorities within the framework of product received and put away timeframes. Progress and results are reviewed with the Manager, Distribution Operations.
- Cover all inbound receiving operations. The incumbent is directly supported by supervisor(s) who in turn directly supervise Lead associates and several hourly associates. The operational area encompasses total inbound operations.The incumbent's role focuses heavily on planning, control and coordination.

- The incumbent should possess excellent organizational skills and demonstrate superior interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- The incumbent must possess the ability to prioritize with a sense of urgency and have the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
- The incumbent must possess advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and managerial skills in order to manage the Inbound Operations and Inventory Control exempt and non-exempt staff.
- Must have the ability to interact professionally with both internal and external contacts as well as demonstrate the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Knowledge of JDA /Red Prairie, SAP or equivalent WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) a plus. Knowledge of basic Cost Accounting principles.
- Ability to do root cause analysis through Pareto reporting is strongly preferred.
- A bachelor's degree in accounting/business/ supply chain (or equivalent) and five (5) years' experience in a distribution or inventory control environment is preferred.
