Job Description

Spherion is looking for an It Support Technician. The IT Support Technician provides front-line support to a rapidly growing, multi-regional, and technology-focused company. Equipped with a clear understanding of productivity loss generated by device or service downtime, this position is responsible for troubleshooting concerns with company-issued equipment and services in a timely manner. The technician will maintain all Enterprise equipment and peripherals, including but not limited to; computers, zero/thin-clients, office phones, cell phones, printers, client software, troubleshooting and maintenance of back-end servers, systems, software and networking equipment.

Responsibilities:
The It Support Technician will be responsible for the following:

Ensure all equipment, services, and appropriate network access is available on first day of employment for new staff; including orientation to company equipment, software, and resources.
Provide first-level support to staff, with configuration, operation, change requests, and technical challenges associated with company-issued equipment and services.
Maintain inventory of IT assets, minimizing losses and assuring reasonable allocation of spare equipment available for quick replacement when needed.
Proactive and timely response to known system events and service issues.
Prompt action and consistent communication to reported challenges. Concerns may come from a variety of channels including; in-person, phone, e-mail, trouble ticket, service request, or system-generated alert.
Maintain approved, secure access to company systems and services.
Administer back office systems such as Active Directory, VMWare, Avaya, Mitel and other systems as necessary.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
Associate's degree or related certifications required, Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a desktop support role
Advanced knowledge of:
Windows desktop, OSX, and Linux operating systems; including client use and system administration and troubleshooting
Software installation and troubleshooting
Microsoft Office suite and cloud-based Office 365 services, including configuration, use, and support.
Proficient knowledge of:
The use and diagnostics of modern computer hardware, the understanding and resolution to software and system errors, as well as correct preparation and execution of upgrades.
Active Directory functions including: user, computer management, permission and role assignments, DNS troubleshooting and changes, and troubleshooting user concerns related to access or group policy configurations
Networking (wired and wireless) including: deployment and troubleshooting of hardware, port-level changes, and diagnosing network performance or access concerns
Working knowledge of virtualization infrastructure concepts, troubleshooting, and practices, including interaction with VMware tools such as: vCenter, ESXi, and Horizon View.
Tier 1 understanding of Exchange and Office 365 user and mailbox management.

Qualifications:
Familiar with:
Navigating and troubleshooting smart device OS's, including: Android and IOS
Windows Terminal Services operation and troubleshooting practice
Installation and operation of network equipment, including: switches, hubs, routers, media converters, fiber and copper cabling, etc. This includes a good working-knowledge of fiber and copper cable routing, termination, and documentation.
Applicant should have a basic understanding of the OSI networking model.
Laser printer operation, troubleshooting and maintenance as well as a familiarity with Windows Printing services.
Telephone switching (PBX), IVR and endpoints devices.
Time management skills necessary to meet deadlines
Exceptional customer service skills
Excellent written and verbal communications skills in addition to the ability to deliver technological information to a non-technical audience
Willingness and ability to learn new technologies
Must be able to lift 50lbs, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, and walk
Must be able to pass criminal and drug test
Must have reliable transportation, valid insurance and a clean driving record
This position is based in Bonita Springs; however, frequent travel within Southwest Florida will be required. Occasional travel within Florida may be required.
