Job Description

Our client is a Biotechnology Company headquartered in Madison WI, with branches throughout the world. They manufacture products for life science research, drug discovery, forensics and diagnostics. Their products are used by life scientists who are asking fundamental questions about biological processes as well as by scientists who are applying scientific knowledge to diagnose and treat diseases, discover new therapeutics, and use genetics and DNA testing for human identification, food and water quality testing and many other applications.

The Label Technician is responsible for printing labels for catalog, customs and OEM, with little supervision on day-to-day work in order to meet the set production goals and productivity guidelines. This role fulfills customer requests, meet and exceed customer expectations, to produce high quality labels.

- Setup, operate and troubleshoot label printing equipment.
- Print product labels for catalog, customs, OEM and CAS.
- Manage and prioritize label printing to meet internal customer requirements or process order demand.
- Verify label accuracy: check that label requests match up with current, approved labels and resolve any discrepancies.
- Recording time and issuing materials via ERP system.
- Accurate documentation of processes and run sheets.
- Create, modify, and edit label templates using label software.
- Understand and comply with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the business.
- Use technical concepts and depth of knowledge to resolve issues effectively.
- Identify and makes recommendations/changes to protocols and procedures.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.

- Provide support to Management for special projects or duties.
- Process and continuous improvement.
- Assist in inventory management, including, but not limited to, cycle counting and physical inventory.
- Training others on label printing tasks.
- Troubleshoot equipment, recommend and/or resolve issues independently.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

- Excellent level of attention to detail and able to work accurately.
- Adaptability and flexibility to changing production demands.
- Competency in general math.
- Excellent organizational, problem solving and prioritization skills.
- Ability to proficiently use computers, phones and electronic interfaces. Preferably ERP systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, HMI's, and Outlook.
- Ability to stand and/or sit for several hours at a time, and to bend multiple times per day
- Visual acuity, including the ability to differentiate colors, required for physical inspection of label.
- Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50-70 lbs.
- Ability to occasionally move up to 300 lbs. on a dolly and 500 lbs. on a pallet jack.
- Ability to work in a team environment.

High School

0-1 years

- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience working in a scientific environment with exposure to various production and packaging equipment highly preferred
- Prior experience in product finishing environment highly preffered
