Job Description

Our client is a market leader in porcine, dairy and beef genetics and is uniquely positioned as a global player with a dedicated, multi-species Research and Development (R&D) team and an international distribution network.

They are currently seeking a highly talented, motivated Laboratory Implementation Lead to join the team to sustainably transform the global bovine industry. The Laboratory Implementation Lead will lead the implementation of new bio-manufacturing facilities, both internationally and domestically, ensuring the on time and effective delivery of solutions. This includes the preparation of laboratory facilities, packing and export of instrumentation, instrumentation assembly and testing, new employee training, and process validation.

- Develops and implements well structured project plans based on requirements and business needs, including accurate resource allocation and delivery timelines
- Leads the build and test of new instrumentation and bio-manufacturing facilities, ensuring on time and satisfactory delivery to internal and external customers
- Utilizing a team of subject matter experts, leads troubleshooting and corrective actions for customer processes, including discrepancies in biological processes, manufacturing process flow, and instrumentation performance
- Provides guidance to external customers regarding the design and build of appropriately specified laboratory facilities for proprietary bio-manufacturing processes
- Coordinates packaging and export of biotech instrumentation for assembly at international customer locations
- Participates in the identification, development, and implementation of process automation and efficiency improvement opportunities.
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
- Participates in instrumentation development activities, ensuring emphasis on design for manufacture, maintenance, and implementation.
- Maintains product and process data base.
- Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.

4-7 years

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field
- 5 years of relevant experience required
- Experience in project management for complex projects involving multi-cultural teams
- Knowledge of machine design principles, drawings and tolerancing
- In depth knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques
- Experience in quality compliance programs, such as ISO, cGMP, or similar
- Ability to travel internationally. 50% travel required
