Job Description

Spherion Staffing is looking an experienced Laser Operator to work with laser machinery to cut metal material and parts according to job specifications found on work orders, blueprints and programs. Responsibilities include cutting material and parts, maintenance of machinery and work area, and moving and unloading cut material and completed parts to designated areas.

Mon-Fri, 7:00am-3:30pm (avg 10 hours per week of overtime)

Pay: $20-22/hour DOE

- Review, interpret, and follow blueprints and work orders to determine and create nesting programs
- Identify the materials required, select the appropriate machine, and ensure the best possible use of material
- Review work order to identify job specifications and required material and parts
- Locate, measure, and check quality of material and parts to be cut
- Set-up, calibrate, and adjust laser machinery to job specifications
- Perform minor program editing and set up procedures
- Operate laser machinery to cut material and parts according to job specifications and programs.
- Review completed work to ensure parts meet company and customer quality requirements
- Load and unload completed material and parts onto pallets
- Maintain Work Area and Machinery by performing regular cleaning and maintenance duties on machines, tools, equipment, and work area

Working hours: Mon-Fri, 7:00am-3:30pm (avg 10 hours per week of overtime)

--Must have 1-4 or more years of machine shop experience with set-up and machine operation
--Drafting and programming experience is ideal, but not required
--Trumpf Operator/ Programmer Certification is preferred, must demonstrate skill in setting-up and adjusting programs for laser machinery and creating simple nesting programs
--Must possess a safety mindset and exhibit safe work behaviors
--Must exhibit good attention to detail to identify and understand detailed job requirements and ensure job specifications are followed precisely
--Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
--Mathematical skills and knowledge are required to calculate angles and measurements
--Forklift certification training is required and provided.
--Operators must be able to read blueprints
