Job Description

Experience Legal Assistant needed for immediate hire with our growing client, that has over 50 years of combined experience handling lawsuits across the United States on behalf of individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities:
- Investigate and gather the facts of a case
- Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation cases in Federal Court
- Organize and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems
- Gather and arrange evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation
- Drafting and reviewing of legal correspondence
- Investigate facts of potential client leads to assist attorneys with case assessment
- Assist Attorneys that work remotely from other states
- Record and store client information
- Assisting Paralegal and Attorney's with other clerical tasks including but not limited to enter notes in case management system, maintaining files, and answering phone calls
- Prepare summary of findings on research which includes but is not limited to Legal Memorandums
- Help lawyers during trials by handling exhibits, taking notes, or reviewing trial transcripts
- File exhibits, briefs, appeals and other legal documents with the court or opposing counsel
- Call clients, witnesses, lawyers, and outside vendors to schedule interviews, meetings, and depositions

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
- Previous experience as a paralegal or other legal field
- Ability to effectively perform legal research in Westlaw
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain proper record keeping
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Proficient in Microsoft Word
- Understanding of Windows 10 and/or Mac Computers
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
- Working Independently and as a group
- Speed and efficiency in preparing correspondence
- Speed and efficiency in typing, researching regulations, and other computer based tasks
- Knowledge of electronic case management systems
- Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved undergraduate program

Education:
High School

Experience:
1-4 years
