Job Description

1.      Performs various duties to support the Bank’s loan processing, underwriting, and closing functions for Mortgage, Home Equity, Consumer, Auto, and Secured loans as follows:   processes loan applications,  Orders and obtains credit reports, appraisals, flood certifications, property reports, etc.;    Verifies and calculates customer income and debt;    Prepares commitment and denial letters and other necessary correspondence.  Communicates with Alliance Credit on the approval or denial of mobile home loans and booking of these loans.   Books all loans into the core system; informs all involved individuals of loan status throughout process.  Maintains registers for new loans, commitments, and denials.   Reviews all information for accuracy and completeness before preparing final loan documents. Prepares loan closing documents; communicates with customers, loan officers, and attorneys to close loans in a timely manner.  Balances settlement sheets and journals.  Processes insurance and administers force placed insurance as necessary.  Scans completed files to AccuLoan after loan closing; ensures all required documents are included.  Prepares and mails paid off loan documents and thank you letters.  Processes and releases titles. Submits insurance payments for escrow customers.     Reviews insurances to ensure current information; follows up on expiring insurance.  Pulls flood insurance after loans are paid off and submits them to the correct flood group for closure.  Provides information for, and assists in the preparation of, various loan reports as directed.  Assists loan officers as needed.  Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment that is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements.  Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate Bank personnel.  Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other Bank personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.


Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; working knowledge of loan processing and underwriting policies, procedures, and regulations; proficient PC skills including knowledge of loan origination systems; proficient organizational skills; proficient problem solving skills; visual and auditory skills.


A high school diploma or equivalent; specialized loan processing education/training.
