Logistics Lead

Job Description

Spherion Staffing is interviewing for the position of Logistics Lead. The Logistics Lead will work directly with customers and vendors to book loads, negotiate rates, ensure timely pickup and delivery, enforce safety compliance and maintain relationships.
The Lead logistics should have the ability to work independently and coach and mentor the other members of the team.

Qualified applicants must have a minimum 5 years brokerage experience in the areas of (trucking, distribution, storage, warehousing) and 2 years team leadership experience.


Salary $43-48k/year DOE

Responsibilities:

- Maintain business with contractual customers to ensure their specific requirements are understood and complied with
- Coordinate all contractually obligated shipments via an established carrier base to ensure adequate capacity to meet customer demands
- Actively monitor all shipments to ensure safe and timely delivery
- Investigate and resolve all shipment related issues in an efficient manner
- Act as a liaison between customers and transportation providers
- Provide outstanding customer service by handling and responding to all customer inquiries in a professional manner throughout the shipping/delivery process
- Demonstrate conflict resolution skills
- Serve as the back-up person for the Logistics Manager by providing support and leadership for the team and customers in their absence

Requirements:
-High school diploma or equivalent required
-Must have a minimum 5 years brokerage experience in the areas of (trucking, distribution, storage, warehousing)
-Minimum 2 years team leadership experience
-Strong communication and excellent customer service skills.
-Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
-Drug screen and background check required
